Managing communities across multiple platforms can be challenging. If your community uses both Discord and Telegram, you know the struggle of keeping messages and announcements synchronized. Server Companion's Telegram Integration feature solves this problem by automatically forwarding messages from your Telegram groups to your Discord server.
Why Bridge Telegram and Discord?
Many communities today span across multiple platforms, with some members preferring Telegram while others stick to Discord. This split can lead to fragmented conversations, missed announcements, and duplicate efforts for moderators who need to post the same messages on both platforms.
Our Telegram Integration feature creates a seamless connection between these platforms, ensuring all messages reach your entire community regardless of their preferred platform.
Key Benefits of Our Telegram Integration
- United Community Experience: Members on both platforms stay in sync with the same conversations and announcements
- Simplified Administration: Post once and reach your entire community across both platforms
- Real-time Updates: Messages forward almost instantly, keeping conversations flowing naturally
- Easy Setup: Connect your platforms in minutes with simple commands
- Custom Configuration: Choose exactly which Telegram groups to connect and which Discord channels receive the messages
How It Works
The Server Companion bot acts as a bridge between your Telegram groups and Discord server. When someone posts a message in your Telegram group, our bot automatically captures the message and forwards it to a designated channel in your Discord server.
Setup Process
- Add the Server Companion bot to both your Discord server and Telegram group
- Use the command
/get_chat_id
in your Telegram group to obtain your group's unique ID - In Discord, use
/telegram add <group_name>
to connect the Telegram group - Set a destination channel with
/telegram set_channel #your-channel
- That's it! Messages will now flow automatically from Telegram to Discord

"Our community was split between Telegram and Discord users. With Server Companion's integration, we've unified our communication and saved countless hours of duplicate messaging." - Gaming Server Admin
Tips for Getting the Most Out of Telegram Integration
- Choose the right Discord channel: Consider creating a dedicated #telegram-feed channel to avoid cluttering your main channels
- Inform your communities: Let members on both platforms know about the integration so they understand why messages are appearing
- Use descriptive Telegram group names: This makes it easier to identify which messages come from which group when displayed in Discord
- Consider message volume: For high-traffic Telegram groups, you might want to forward only to a low-priority Discord channel
